Trump’s comment came shortly after a shooting at a Florida school where 17 people died.

– I want you to pass a strict and sharp law, especially sharp when it comes to security checks, – he told the White House on Wednesday, encouraging them to co-operate on passing laws.

He said the NRA “has great power over people”, but that the lobby is “less powerful” than him.
